Creating a Digital ID Certificate
- Open Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Navigate to the upper left, select 'Edit'
- Select 'Preferences...'
- You can also press the key-combination 'CTRL' and 'K'
- On the left hand column, scroll down and select 'Signatures'
- Under 'Identities & Trusted Certificates', select 'More...'
- In the 'Digital IDs' category, select the leftmost symbol
- Select 'A new digital ID I want to create now' and continue by pressing 'Next >'
- Continue by pressing 'Next >'
- Fill out the information below
- Your name (First Last)
- Your Org. Unit (ex. Your Department)
- Your Org. Name (Northern York County School District)
- Your district email
- Continue by pressing 'Next >'
- Enter in a password which you will use to verify your signature.
- 8-12 Characters in length
- AT LEAST ONE
- Capital Letter
- Number
- Symbol
- Continue by pressing 'Next >'
You have now created a Digital ID. The next steps will help you to create a digital signature to pair with this ID.
Creating a Custom Signature
- Create a blank page PDF
- Select the 'Fill & Sign' button on the top ribbon bar
- Select 'Sign Yourself'
- Select 'Add Signature'
- You may now type out your name, or use the touch-screen of the device to sketch your signature out
- Finish by selecting 'Apply'
- The created signature will now be merged with your mouse pointer until you left-click to paste it onto the document
- Click on the document
- Navigate to the top left and select 'Edit'
- In the dropdown select: 'Edit a PDF'
- Select 'Crop Pages'
- Click and drag the cropping tool around your signature.
- Press 'Enter'
- Select 'OK'
- Save the document
- Make sure it is saved as a PDF.
- In the upper right select 'Home'
- Select 'Edit'
- Select 'Preferences'
- Navigate to 'Creation & Appearance' > 'More...'
- Select 'New...'
- Title your signature (ex. 'Default')
- Under 'Configure Graphic' select the box saying 'Imported graphic'.
- Select 'File...' Then navigate to where you saved your file.
- Under 'Configure Text' you can uncheck the field that says 'Logo'
Congratulations! You have just created your Digital ID Signature.
